Bratia, the band

A classically-trained violinist and violist who studied in Spain, the Netherlands and Germany, Pere Nolasc focuses his interests on improvisation and creativity. Since 2008, he has collaborated with many projects in the jazz, traditional and classical music spheres in Barcelona, including aupaQUARTET and the Barcelona Gipsy Balkan Orchestra, performing in over thirty countries.

He combines his passion for interpretation with pedagogy, teaching masterclasses across the Iberian Peninsula and internationally.

Victor Paradis is a young and multifaceted French-Canadian guitarist who has performed at some of the main alternative music festivals in Spain. In a short period of time he has become an essential personality of the Barcelona music scene, delving into the aesthetics of gypsy jazz and world music through Bratia – a fusion of influences free of complexes.

Julien Chanal is a French musician of unparalleled talent on the guitar. He has joined Bratia as a rhythm guitarist, bringing his passion for manouche guitar to this fascinating project. His rhythmic prowess and knowledge of traditional melodies – also explored in the Barcelona Gipsy Balkan Orchestra – add a distinctive touch to the fusion of Balkan music and jazz manouche.

Born in Athens, Stelios Togias has performed more than five hundred concerts in over thirty countries with bands from the Barcelona music scene, including Aikar, Trio Feta and the emblematic Barcelona Gipsy Balkan Orchestra. A restless percussionist who has deeply investigated the rhythms of Middle Eastern musical cultures, playing instruments of Arabic, Persian and Ottoman Turkish origin.
